Hello, I'm Vong Sovanpanha. I'm an 8th grader and I really like to help my mom with cooking. Although I'm not a professional, I sometimes cook for myself when I'm home alone. I chose this topic because I was curious about the scrumptious foods the chefs and my mom cook, especially the ingredients and skills that they put in to make the food delicious. You can expect some of my posts to be for cooking sharing memories of me cooking with my family or giving out tips and tricks for beginners.
An unexpected time, I'll never forget was my coincidental success for When I first cooked for my family. I was making curry and I was supposed to add coconut milk, but instead, my intrusive thoughts kicked in and thought of adding whipped cream with milk. As a ten year old. I still had no idea of any of the effects of reading them in the curry but I still added it anyways. After adding it and stirring for half an hour, my mom didn't hesitate to pour it into a bowl and let everyone taste it first instead (she'd usually taste it herself first). When everyone tasted it, they gasped and devoured the curry in an instant. I was curious to see if it was actually good or not, so I gave it a taste and it wasn't that good for my taste. I was wondering if they were being sarcastic but either way I wanted to go and train in the culinary class to improve my cooking in case I cooked for people who would spill all the complaints and criticize my cooking
To stuff it up, I'm merely turning 14 and I'm learning how to cool for myself. I can say learning how to cook can be creative also in a to of ways such as saving money by cooking myself instead of ordering foods that can cause more and might not have a good hygiene or taste. You can post blogs, videos on social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook. Instagram... for fun and maybe gaining followers. And if you know a lot of recipes, you can prioritize the ingredients to make a quick meal instead of spending a huge amount of ingredients for a big pot that can go bad or loses it's taste later. And in some cases, if you are lost in the wild and hunger kicks in, you might have a chance to know edible things that can be very essential for Survival skills.
As a 14 year old being a student and a chef in my own world, I may not stood a chance against other people, but I will try my best to enlighten myself and everyone of everything I can when blogging.
